How text marketing and door hangers can go hand in hand
If you’re a business that exists in the 21st century you know how difficult it can be to get in front of your ideal customer and get their attention. There are so many products and services competing for their attention that it feels almost impossible for your brand to get seen and heard. It’s even harder if you don’t have the advertising budget that some of the bigger companies have. So, what’s a small business to do? How can you cut through the noise and get your product or service in front of the right people? Here at Stateside Marketing we’ve been seeing some success with a two-pronged approach: door hangers + text marketing. You’d be surprised by how well these two marketing approaches work together.
Door Hangers are tried and true
Door hangers have been around for a very long time. The reason they haven’t gone anywhere is because they work. Another reason that business owners love them so much is that they are cost effective. Budget is important when you’re running a small business. You don’t want to be investing money that isn’t yielding a return. Here are a few reasons they work so well:
• They don’t get lumped in with your regular mail
• They go on your door knob so they’re hard to miss
• They’re more personal and they are tangible. Potential customers have to pick them up and hold them
The very nature of this type of ad is designed to get attention. The rest of the work is up to you. How will you hold their attention and convert them into a customer? Not to fret, that’s something Stateside can help you with.
Text marketing is making waves
Text marketing is a much more recent marketing method than door hangers, but it’s showing a lot of promise. When you go to a local store and make a purchase you’ll sometimes be asked for an email or a phone number. By providing this information you are consenting to receiving marketing materials from this business. This works well for a few reasons. The company is already filtering out those people that aren’t interested. So only people who agree to receiving the materials are saying yes. But more importantly, if you have their information that means they’re already making a purchase at your store, which makes them a warm lead as opposed to a cold one. They’re already open to what you’re selling, which means if you hit them up with the right offer, there is a strong possibility that they will be receptive.
Combining the two methods together
The great news is that both of these marketing methods are more cost effective than many others out there. Combining them is just increasing the odds in your favor. Say you own a car wash business and you have a promotion where you’re offering a premium service for the price of a regular service. You decide to print off some door hangers in hopes that you’ll get some increased traffic. Now what if you sent those hangers to customers that are already enrolled in your text marketing program. They’d get that promo on their door and make a mental note to go in for a car wash. The problem is that even if they’re interested, people’s attention is divided amongst so many things that they may very well forget. So, then a few days later you send them a text message reminding them of the promo. Now they’re much more likely to remember and actually follow through.
Finding the right marketing method can always be tricky but combining door hangers and text marketing is the makings of the perfect recipe for success. Give us a call today to give it a try.
